Chinese authorities have announce plans to start granting 5G licenses¹ for commercial use, the Ministry² of Industry and Information Technology said Monday.

 

中国工信部周一宣布计划开始发放5G商用牌照。

 

"China welcomes domestic and overseas companies to become engaged in 5G network construction and application, while sharing the fruit of China's 5G development," said the Ministry in a statement.

 

The 5G standards used in China are international standards set by various companies worldwide. Many overseas companies such as Nokia, Ericsson, Qualcomm and Intel have already participated in the testing stages for 5G development.

 

China's 5G industry has a competitive advantage and is well prepared for commercial use, said the Ministry.
