Chinanews, Xi'an, March 17 – Li Baoshun, in his 60s, has made the models of 180 famous ships. However, he will not feel satisfied until he can build a museum for his ship models.
Li lives in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. It took him ten years and some 1.5 million yuan to fulfill1 his dream, which has incurred2 for him a debt to the tune3 of some 400 thousand yuan. One of his fingers was cut off in an accident when he was making one of the models. “I will not sell any one of my models,”said Li, even when somebody offered a 6-digit price. When asked about his “armada”, Li seemed to have a lot to say. “I have boats of the Song Dynasty, and the fleet of Zheng He in the Ming Dynasty. These are my favorite, the ships of the Qing Dynasty's Qianlong Emperor, which he used in his journey to south of the Yangtze River.”
