Chinanews, Beijing, June 8 - SKYTV of Britain sent 4 journalists to Yuyao, Zhejiang Province on June 6, 2007, to make a special program of Hu Xilin, a "fly-catching master", in the next 3 days.
Before that, several TV stations from Germany, Sweden, South Korea and Japan had reported the story of Hu. SKYTV learned about Hu as early as last year, but it was not determined1 to make this program until The Times had published a picture of Hu weighing dead flies with a steelyard. Hu is a private business owner in Yuyao, who has invested 300 thousand yuan to found a voluntary fly-killing team and the first fund to reward pest killers2 in China. He has also initiated3 several campaigns against pests, especially flies in the country. Once, he drove his car around China to tell the general public the importance of controlling pests. That's how he won the name of "fly-catching master". "We humans have been battling with pests since the beginning of our history, and we really appreciate Hu's contribution to this campaign," commented one journalist of SKYTV, who also promised to produce a program that would make British understand the importance of Hu's achievements.
