Chinanews, Shanghai, July 10 – In China, men living in cities now spend an average of 8.6 minutes every day looking into the mirror to see how they look. In Shanghai, the average time even reaches 17.1 minutes, according to a report released1 by the Horizon Research Consultancy Group, the Shanghai Morning Post reported.
Compared with other cities, men in Beijing and Shanghai are willing to spend large sums of money on buying cosmetics3. Improving their looks has become an important part of their daily lives, said the report titled "The Changing Lifestyle Among City Dwellers4". In addition to spending a longer time looking into the mirror, men also spend more money on cosmetic2 products. As the report shows, in Shanghai men spend about 118.9 yuan on average in buying cosmetic products every month. Senior managers, people working in service industry and students care about their appearance most. These people spend more than 10 minutes every day looking into the mirror in order to make themselves look tidy.
