Chinanews, Shanghai, Aug. 15 – Cheng Yanhua, a 41-year-old man from Jingzhou, Hubei Province, drifted along the Yangtze River recently, just using simple equipment. He spent 43 days drifting from Chongqing to Shanghai.
After watching a TV program about an American explorer drifting along the Amazon River, and he began to cherish1 the idea of drifting along the Yangtze River. “I practiced for 10 hours in a river near my hometown everyday,” said Cheng. Cheng started his journey on July 1. He said that he had had to fight against loneliness in the course of the drifting, during which many common people along the river gave him their support by cheering him on.
