Chinanews, Chongqing, Sept 5 – In Chongqing, many residents living in residential1 communities complain that they often see some lovers kissing in public places. They think this is inappropriate. They suggest that lovers should kiss at their homes, not in public places, the Chongqing Evening News reported.

Zhang Xingzhen lives in a building in Huayicun, Yuzhong District. She said that one day, when she went out for a morning jog, she saw some lovers kissing in public places near the community center. On another day, when she went down to take a walk in the evening, she saw a couple kissing after embracing for a while. In order to avoid such scene, Zhang had to change her route. However, half an hour later, when she came back, she saw that the loving pair was still there, billing and cooing as if nobody were around them.

“It's so strange. Why didn't they kiss in their own houses? Why should they do so in public places?” she exclaimed.

To Liu Zhigang, a worker at the Chongqing Jianxun Electronics Company, it is natural for lovers to express their affection for each other in public places. However, if the lovers do so in community areas, it might not be appropriate.

“There are many old people and children living in community areas. If the lovers kiss, embrace, or caress2 each other for very long time, they might see it. Old people will find it unacceptable and this might also cast some negative influence on kids, too. Young people who are near the lovers will also feel uncomfortable,”Liu said.

Nowadays, many young Chinese like to accept new ideas. However, there are still lots of Chinese who are rather conservative. If young people express their love in public places, many people will find it unacceptable, said Ms. Liu, a lady living in Zhongshan No. 1 Road in Yuzhong District.

She said that many young people were in fact imitating the lovers on TV, however in real life, they still needed to behave themselves and consider other people's feelings.

Wang Niannian, a lady now head over heels in love, said she understood these young people, but she would not take after them. “I would consider other people's feelings first.”
