Chinanews, Beijing, September 13 – A latest research paper shows that soaring housing price in Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Shenzhen has made the five cities less and less hospitable1 or inhabitable.
The research paper was published at the Beijing Summit of China Urban Forum2 on September 11, 2007. Expensive housing will surely affect both the absorption of investment and the subsistence of local residents. Thus local governments should take up the responsibility for improving the hospitality of their cities.
