Chinanews, Beijing, Sept. 30 – The result of a latest survey conducted among pet owners in Beijing by Renmin University of China was released1 on Thursday.

The survey finds that 75.9% of pet owners in Beijing say they will stop raise dogs. Some of the respondents say raising dogs may cause quarrels among neighbors. Some say their dogs’ death, if any, may cause psychological2 wounds3 in their minds as owners of the pets.

More men than women intend to raise dogs, and poor people are more likely to raise pets in Beijing. More than 45% of pet owners say they enjoy raising dogs, and only 7% of the respondents say they raise dogs in order to use them to guard intrusion by strangers.
