Chinanews, Shenzhen, October 13 – According to Hu Yafeng, deputy secretary-general of the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense¹, more than 60% of military techs and productivities in China have been transferred for civil use, including 100,000-plus patents.

Currently, military industry contributes to 65% of the total industrial output value of China, as against only 10% in 1978, generating 10,000-odd civil products, including 200 very popular ones (the sales value of each breaking 100 million yuan).

Nowadays, the military industry also plays an important role in China’s innovative² industries, for most technologies used in nuclear energy, aviation, spaceflight, ship building and electronics have been developed by military industry.
