Chinanews, Beijing, October 15 – According to a recent survey, more than 70% of couples of the single-child generation will have their parents take care of their kids, while only 15.8% of young mothers will do it themselves.

The survey, conducted by theWomen of China Magazine, covers young couples around 29 years old. The average monthly1 income of the respondents is 4,000 yuan per capita.

43.5% of respondents have kids, but 10.1% of male respondents and 25.8% of female2 respondents don’t think it is necessary for couples to have kids.

Most of the young couples are still not prepared to play the role of parents. Besides, most of them have not helped their parents take care of their younger brothers or sisters, for they don’t have any. That is to say, they have no experience at all in raising kids.

The single-child generation have also relied too much on their parents in life, and their parents feel it’s their natural obligation3 to take care of the grandchildren.
