Chinanews, Beijing, Oct 16 – Global consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers issued a report on Monday that analyzes1 China's employment environment up to the year of 2020. By investigating about 3,000 college graduates from China, Britain and the United States, the report tries to find out what expectations college students have for their future career. Most of these college students will soon work in professional service companies, China Business News reported.
The report shows that 97% of the college students believe they will travel for work more often than their parents did. PricewaterhouseCoopers believes this shows that globalization process is quickening in China. A clear evidence is that among the 890 Chinese student respondents, 90% believed that they will use a language other than their mother tongue in their work. The report also reflects that Chinese college students are very idealistic in choosing their employers. 87% of the repondents say they will try to find a responsible employer who is willing to help realize their hopes and desires. However, American students appear to be even more idealistic than Chinese students. In the survey, 90% of the American college students say they will try to work in a company whose core values are the same as theirs. In this aspect, only 71% of the British students would do so. The report shows that Chinese women are most willing to take risks for their career development, which is perhaps the most surprising result that the report reveals. In the report, 11.5% of the Chinese women believe they will have more than ten different employers in their career. Generally speaking, most Chinese women think they will have 2-5 different employers. In addition, the report shows that most people don’t feel like taking a lot of different part-time jobs at the same time. This shows that people still like to have a stable job. Another surprising result is that of all the respondents in the report, overall only 5% believe they will work at home in future. In China, however, the percentage point reaches as high as 7.4%. In addition, 75% of the Chinese college graduates hope they can have a flexible working time.
