Chinanews, Guangzhou, November 14 – According to a research conducted in Guangzhou, love has become less and less important to Guangzhouers than wealth and career.
In the early 1990s, love was the 4th important thing to Guangzhouers, and now, it is only the 11th. The research was launched in 1990 and came to an end in 2007, to find the basic values of Guangzhouers, involving their view on health, family, marriage, love, wealth, career, creature comfort and social responsibility. Before 2000, love was more important than wealth and career to Guangzhouers, but not now. The position of love in the mind of Guangzhouers has been degrading since. It is not likely for love to regain1 its position in the foreseeable future. The number of male respondents who think that marriage is the most important thing in life is nearly the same as the number of those who think of career this way. Before 2007, most female respondents shared the viewpoint that love was more important than career, but this year, career seems to be more popular with them.
