Urbanization narrows wild boars living space

Chinanews, Beijing, Nov. 30 – Hunters in the Qiandao Lake area in Zhejiang Province said that they felt it easier to capture wild boars. According to latest China Weekly Review, many people hold that the increase of wild boars has been caused by the rapid urbanization occurring across the country.

 

The 61-year-old villager Deng Rongqing, said that he started hunting wild boars with his father when he was 17. He said that it is hard to catch wild boars although they often destroy crops in autumn. Deng indicated that he and his fellow villagers and him could capture several wild boars annually1.

 

In recent years, more and more wild boars have attacked the villagers. People are fearful lest wild boars should thoroughly2 devastated3 their farmland. Hunters said they have seen groups of boars damaging crops in the fields. Deng said such thing had never happened before.
