Wealth, glamour1 and a powerful husband – it might seem as though Carla Bruni has it all. But while she rubs shoulders with the rich and famous, it appears the former supermodel lacks something of the common touch.

财富、魅力、有权势的老公——法国第一夫人卡拉·布吕尼似乎应有尽有。尽管她跻身富豪名流,但看起来这位前超模却不够平易近人。

The French people have voted their president’s wife as the country’s most irritating(刺激的,气人的) celebrity.

On top of that, the poll to find the country’s most annoying people found her husband Nicolas Sarkozy to be one of France’s most irksome(令人厌烦的) politicians.

Miss Bruni, 43, topped the list of media personalities3 that most got on people’s nerves, with 52 per cent of people saying they found her presence ‘highly grating(刺耳的,摩擦的) '.

She was followed by veteran(经验丰富的,老兵的) screen star Alain Delon on 47 per cent and actor Gerard Depardieu on 46 per cent in the Harris poll of 1,713 adults.

The award rounds off a turbulent(骚乱的,狂暴的) year for Miss Bruni.

In February, historian Patrick Weber branded her a ‘frivolous(无聊的,轻佻的) fashion victim who is isolated4 from reality’ in a book about her life.

Then in March she was forced to deny rumours5 she was having an affair with singer Benjamin Biolay.

Her husband was voted France’s fourth most unbearable6 politician, behind socialist7 presidential candidate Segolene Royal, interior minister Brice Hortefeux and National Front leader Jean-Marie Le Pen.

French daily Le Parisien said: ‘This couple clearly have a lot of PR(公共关系) work to do for themselves over the next 12 months.’
