David Cameron used his final farewell speech as Prime Minister to pay tribute to his family, who he said had enjoyed six 'lovely' years living in 10 Downing Street.
大卫·卡梅伦在他作为英国首相的最后一次告别演说中,对他的家人表示了感谢。他表示,他的家人很享受住在唐宁街10号这六年的“美好”生活。
Sharing a rare glimpse into family life in No 10, he recalled how his five-year-old daughter, Florence, had once climbed into his red ministerial box just before a foreign trip and pleaded to be taken with him.
He brought an end to his six-year tenure1 as Prime Minister by making an emotional speech insisting he was leaving Britain 'stronger' as he made a last attempt to define his legacy2 before handing over the reigns3 to Theresa May.
But it was Florence who stole the show as Mr Cameron and wife Samantha presented their children in front of the nation's cameras for the first time this evening. Pictured in a flowery pink and orange dress and wearing gold shoes, she held hands with her older sister Nancy, 12, and her mother Samantha, 45, she smiled as her Dad gave his last speech to the nation as PM.
Florence has spent her whole life in Downing Street but will spend her first night in her new home in temporary accommodation after the swift developments that saw Theresa May named the winner of the Tory leadership election nine weeks early.
She appeared to enjoy the limelight as she smiled to the cameras and shyly clung on to her mother's dress towards the end of her father's speech.
