Chinanews, Urumqi, February 25 – According to Wang Na, the director of Urumqi Observatory1, Urumqi is going to cooperate with the National Astronomical2 Observatory of Japan, and a memorandum3 has been signed to this effect.
Japan will launch its lunar-orbiter SELENE in August, 2007, and Urumqi Observatory will be responsible for follow-up observations in the project with the cooperation of the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan.
Urumqi Observatory took part in Shenzhou and Chang'e projects, and it was one of the major observatories4 doing the research of pulsars.
