President Xi Jinping has called for more efforts to break new ground in promoting high-quality development in ethnic¹ border regions. Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks during his inspection² trip to south China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous³ region from April 25 to 27. Xi called on these regions to better serve and integrate into the country's new development pattern, make new progress in advancing green development, and be more committed to consolidating⁴ and developing ethnic unity⁵, social stability and border security.
