Have one's heart in one's boots

　　When someone is said to have his/her heart in his/her boots he or she is afraid, melancholy¹ or discouraged. Romeo, for instance, would certainly have his heart in his boots if Juliet did not return his admiration².

　　"We gentle ladies don't wear boots, of course, but I would surely have my heart in my boots if Romeo did not love me," Juliet sighed.

　　当某人说have his/her heart in his/her boots时，他/她是在担心、忧郁或者灰心。举个例子，如果朱利叶对他的爱慕毫无反应，罗密欧肯定会have his heart in his boots。
