Chinanews, Beijing, Dec. 21 – Chang'e 1 moon probe1 satellite had been working well in space and it has now started the second round of its moon probe work. Scientists are analyzing2 the data received from the satellite, Luan Enjie, who is in charge of China’s moon probe project, said on Wednesday, CCTV reported.
The satellite is operating well in space and transferring data to the earth as expected. Currently3, scientists have started their research work on the moon based on the data received so far. However, it will take some time before scientists can draw a general picture of the moon. Scientists are working hard towards that goal and will publicize the moon's general picture when they have received and processed all the data, Luan said. Chang'e 1 moon probe satellite was launched into space on Oct 24 and it completed its flights to the moon on November 21. From then on, it had started to circle around the moon for scientific exploration work. Right now, it has completed its first flight around the moon and has started the second round of moon probe work, said Ouyang Ziyuan, chief scientist of China’s lunar exploration project. Based on related plans, the lunar probe satellite will conduct a one-year exploration of the moon and all the data it has gathered through the exploration will, according to related international practice, be shared by scientists of other countries after two years of the data disclosure, so as to promote international cooperation in the science circle.
