今天我们讲一个简单的几何图形：circle 回忆一下关于圆的单词： diameter=dia（相对）+ metre（长度）名词“直径” dialogue=dia （相对）+ logue（talk）名词“对话” radius=radi（根，辐射）+ us（名词尾缀）名词“半径” radiation=radi + ation名词“辐射” radical=radic（根）+ al“根本上的” eradicate=e（out）+ radic（根）+ ate动词“根除” circle 1名词“圆，圈子”，如a wide circle of friends一个广泛的朋友圈 2动词“环绕” 词根circu，circul，circum=circle circular=circul（圆）+ ar“圆形的，环形的”，如a circular table一张圆形的桌子，a circular bus route一条环形的共车路线 circulate =circul（圆）+ ate 1动词“循环”，例：Blood circulates through the body. 血液在我们的身体中循环。 2动词“流传，传播”，例：The news of her death circulates quickly.她死的消息很快就传开了。 circulation=circul（圆）+ ation名词“循环，流传，发行量”，如a newspaper with a daily circulation of more than one million一份日发行量超过10万的报纸 circus=circu（圆）+ (u)s“马戏团，马戏场” -us名词尾缀，如genius=gen（gene）+ I + us“天才” circuit=circu（圆）+ it（go）电子走了一圈成为一个通路名词，“电路” 词根It=go exit=ex（out）+ it（go）走出去，名词“出口” transit=trans（across）+ it（go）从一个跨越到另一个地方，名词“运输” visit=vis（see）+ it（go）走过去看一看，“参观” initiate=in（内部）+ it（go）+ I + ate内部决定后再出发，动词“发动”，如initiate a social reform发动一个社会改革 其形容词为initial“最初的”，例：The initial talk form the basis of later agreement.最初的谈话形成了后来协议的基础。 其副词为Initially“最初，开始”，例：Initially, I opposed（=op（against）+ pose（put）） the project, but later I changed my minds. 开始时我反对这项计划，但是后我改变了主意。 其名词为initiative“主动性”，搭配do sth.on one’s own initiative主动做某事 transition=trans（across）+ it（go）+ ation名词“过渡”，如the transition from childhood to adult从童年过渡到成年 circumstance=circum + st（stand）+ ance名词“境况”，如under no circumstance在任何情况下决不，例：Under no circumstance should you lend him some money.无论如何你都不要借给他钱。（要用倒装） 表示环境的单词还有： surroundings“环境（物质环境）”，surround动词“包围”，surrounding“周围的” environment“环境（物质环境和精神环境）”，如a happy family environment一个愉快的家庭环境          还有个单词也要提一下：competitive atmosphere竞争环境，atmosphere=atmo（atom）+ sphere（球体），“大气，氛围”，如romantic atmosphere浪漫的氛围 补充一个词根cycle=circle hemicycle“半圆”，hemisphere“半球” recycle=re（again）+ cycle（圆）动词“回收”，如recycle waste paper回收废纸 其形容词为recyclable“可回收的” bicycle=bi（双）+ cycle（圆）“自行车” 词根bi表示双 bilingual school双词学校 bimonthly magazine双月刊 combine=com（together）+ bi（双）+ ne把两个事物放在一起，动词“联合，结合”，例：The two countries combined to fight against their common enemy.这两个国家联合起来去对抗共同的敌人。 词根tri表示三 triangle=tri（三）+ angle（角）“三角形” 词根angle表示角，如rectangle“长方形” 词根rect=right，straight正，直 correct形容词“正确的”，动词“纠正”，如correct spelling mistakes纠正拼写错误 rectify动词“纠正，整顿”，如rectify the style of work纠正工作作风 erect=e（out）+ rect（正，直）扶正扶直使它显露出来，动词“直立，竖起”，如erect a tent at the edge of the field在田野边缘竖起一个帐篷。
