Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton is expected to sign a new Mercedes contract this week.

 Lewis Hamilton The deal, which includes a basic salary and extensive bonuses, is reported to be more than 40 million U.S. dollars a year.
Hamilton is in the final few months of the three-year deal he signed in late 2011 to join the Silver Arrows from McLaren.
The overall value of Hamilton's deal is fundamentally similar to F1's two other big earners and multiple champions, McLaren's Fernando Alonso and Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel.
