Fantasy film "Warcraft" has opened in China, delivering the biggest opening day ever for a non-holiday release in the world's second largest movie market.

Ticket sales achieved 46 million dollars on its first day of play in China, propelling its international running total to over 120 million dollars heading into this week's release in North America.
The film tells the story of human civilization resisting invasion from a fearsome race of orc invaders1 who want to colonize2 them.
The strong launch is also believed to be a windfall for billionaire Wang Jianlin's Legendary5 Entertainment, co-producer of the film.
Wang's Wanda Group owns Legendary after paying 3.5 billion dollars for the content creator at the start of the year. Gaming giant Tencent Holdings also owns a portion of Warcraft.
The previous China opening day record is 28 million dollars was set by Avengers: Age Of Ultron last year.
