U.S. retail¹ giant Amazon has launched direct air cargo² flights to Zhengzhou, capital of Henan province.

Planes carrying nearly 1,000 products including food, clothes and household appliances ordered from Chinese buyers flew from New York, Chicago and Los Angles to the Chinese transportation hub.

 

The imports will then be distributed to consumers nationwide.

 

The airport in Zhengzhou posted 275-thousand tonnes of imported cargo over the past year, up more than 20 percent year on year.
