China, which has the world's largest automotive industry, has revealed plans to cut import tariffs1 on vehicles.
中国,有着世界上最大的汽车产业,透露了削减进口汽车关税的计划。
This has been received positively2 by the British motor industry, which sees hope for an increase in exports as a result of lower prices for Chinese consumers after the tariffs are cut.
That's partially3 because British manufacturers are now predominantly focused around the luxury market - for which there is particular import demand in China.
The news is further evidence of the growing importance of the Chinese market to British manufacturers.
For example, in 2017, Aston Martin unveiled a new edition of its V8 Vantage S in Shanghai, which will only be available in China.
Called the 'Great Britain Edition', the latest variant4 of the supercar is priced at just a tad under £240,000, with a limited production run of just five vehicles.
The Aston, which was unveiled at the Shanghai motor show, featured a blue leather interior and some exclusive touches such as a unique upholstery.
