Chinanews, Urumqi, Jul. 5 – According to China Colored Cotton, Ltd. Xinjiang has become China’s largest colored cotton producer whose total production occupies half of the world’s total.

Zhao Xiaolin, the manager of China Colored Cotton, Ltd, revealed¹ at the China International Cotton Conference that the sown area of natural colored cotton has increased to 200 thousand mu in China. He also said that Xinjiang was also a important base of colored cotton products.

Colored cotton has become crucial² to China’s cotton industry in the competition worldwide, and colored cotton is now grown in Xinjiang, Gansu, Hunan, Anhui, Sichuan, Shanxi and Zhejiang.

China Colored Cotton, Ltd. produced 8,000 tons of colored cotton in 2006, and had developed more than 400 kinds of colored cotton products.
