Chinanews, Beijing, July 19 - Xi'an Aircraft Industry (group) Company and the International Leasing Company under the China Aviation Industry Corporation I (AVIC 1) on Wednesday signed a leasing contract with the Okair Airlines to sell ten Xinzhou-60 feeder planes to the private airline company, with the contracted value totaling 1.25 billion yuan. This was the first time that Xinzhou-60, a turbo-prop aircraft running on feeder lines, were sold to a domestic airline company through leasing.   The first sales contract of the new-type Xinzhou-60 will lay a solid foundation for the aircraft to further expand its market shares in China. This will be significant for the development of domestic aviation industry and the development of domestic feeder line transportation. It was also the first time that AVIC 1 International Leasing Company ever sold its products to a private company in China, indicating that AVIC 1 has started to explore the domestic civil aviation market, said Lin Zuoming, the general manager of AVIC 1.   In addition to making a major breakthrough in domestic market, Xinzhou-60 also enjoys a good sale in international market as well. Since November 2004, AVIC 1 has signed contracts with nine countries including Zimbabwe, Laos, the Congo (B.) and Zambia and sold a total of 36 aircraft to them.   Xinzhou-60 has a seating capacity of 52-60 passengers with a flying distance of 1,600 kilometers.
