Chinanews, Xiamen, Sept 11 – Construction of a Taiwan street was recently completed in Beijing. Located in Beijing's Fengtai District, Taiwan Street consists of a shopping mall, a four-star commercial hotel, and the Tainan International Hotel. The street covers a total area of 60,000 square meters. At present, the buildings in the street are being painted and decorated and will open to the public at the end of this year, an official working in a related Beijing government department said in Xiamen last Sunday.
Taiwan Street will consist of a commodity wholesale1 street, a snack street, a Taiwan history and culture museum, and a moth2 orchid3 flower display hall. People visiting the street can shop, eat snacks, engage in sightseeing and other leisure activities while doing business at the same time. With the building of Taiwan Street, visitors can experience Taiwan customs and culture without having to go to Taiwan. They will also have a chance to enjoy the genuine taste of Taiwan fruits and its snack foods there, a person in charge of the project said.
