BEIJING, Sept. 11 - China's share prices tumbled down 4.51 percent on Tuesday as investors1 are worried about possible tightening2 measures following the consumer prices rose a record high of 6.5 percent in August, Xinhua News Agency reported.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index on the Shanghai Stock Exchange closed at 5,113.97 points on Tuesday, down 241.32 points, or 4.51 percent from the previous close. The Shenzhen Component3 Index on the smaller Shenzhen Stock Exchange went down 4.40 percent, or 789.09 points to end at 17,129.39.
