Chinanews, Shanghai, Nov. 27 – Next year, Chinese economy will be marked with a high economic growth, high interest rates and high exchange rates, according to a recent report released by JP Morgan Chase.
The global investment bank further predicts that Olympic Games will not serve as a turning point for Chinese economy. The country's economy will continue to grow rapidly after the Olympic Games, the Shanghai Securities Journal reported.
However, due to government's tightened1 policy and the lowering demand from other major economies, the growth of fixed2 assets investment and export volume will start to slow down. In the coming months, the government will continue to implement3 a tightened monetary4 policy, the report says.
As Chinese people's disposable income increase step by step and the implementation5 of the government measures will stimulate6 the domestic consumption, the report predicts that individuals consumption in China will continue to grow in future.
In addition, the new tax reform, which aims to implement a unified7 corporate8 tax for both domestic and foreign companies, will provide a solid basis for Chinese economy's future growth. Excessive liquidity9 and the rising corporate earnings10 might push economy to grow at a rate higher than currently expected, the report says.
The report predicts that in 2007, CPI growth rate will reach 4.3% for the whole year and drop a little bit to 3.8% in 2008. As CPI growth rate remains11 high, more people expect that the central bank will further raise interest rates. The report predicts that by the end of next year, the required reserves ratio for Chinese financial institutions might be further raised up to 15%.
