Chinanews, Beijing, November 29 – According to the annual health report of Chinese businesspeople, nearly 50% of them are smitten1 with chronic2 diseases or another making their health conditions worse than the average level.
The report is based on the result of physical checks of 427 businesspeople from Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai. 65% of businessmen are obese3; 61.7% of all of them have cervical degenerative diseases; 57% of all of them have blood fat disorder4; 48.8% of all of them have gastrointestinal problems; 33% of them have ECG abnormalities. Quite a large proportion of businesswomen suffer from thyroid diseases. The incidence of the diseases mentioned above among businesspeople is more than 100% higher than the rate of ordinary people of the same age, which shows that their health is deteriorating5. In another survey, 67% of businesspeople think that they have exchanged health for fortune, and 83% believe health is more important than fortune.
