The China Consumers Association has backed a new online campaign in China, suggesting it is illegal that cinemas require consumers to pay for the glasses needed to watch 3D films.
中国消费者协会对最近互联网上流传的一个说法表示支持:观看3D电影,影院不提供3D眼镜而需要消费者购买,这是不合法的。

The national consumer rights watchdog is calling on local authorities to combat such "unfair clauses" in a bid to protect consumers' rights.
The CCA says its responding to a number of complaints it has received from customers being forced to purchase 3D glasses in certain cinemas.
Qiu Baochang, a legal expert with China Consumers Association, argues 3D glasses are indispensable in viewing a 3D film. "When consumers buy a 3D film ticket, they also pay for the service, which should include offering 3D glasses. It is also against the Consumer Protection Law to ask consumers pay for the 3D glasses," said Qiu.
The issue has prompted wide-spread discussion on the Internet in China, with many backing the CCA in its crackdown.
