Chinanews, Beijing, May 10 – China Adolescence1 Research Institute recently launched2 a survey among 2,500 students in 6 cities and found that Chinese students spend an hour watching TV everyday on average.

These cities are Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Changchun, Chengdu and Lanzhou. According to Wang Xiaobo, a scholar from Tianjin Research Institute of Social Science, children enjoy watching TV, for TV’s programs are vivid and interesting.

He also revealed3 that in 1992, children only spent 25 minutes watching TV programs, while in 1998, the time reached 38 minutes.

Wang revealed that most parents think watching TV is the most convenient way of relaxing oneself. Sometimes television becomes more important than parents to children’s daily life.
