Chinanews, Beijing, July 3 – The User Research Lab of Chinese Search, or URLCS, recently carried out an interactive1 poll among web users, and discovered many interesting things. The report on the poll results shows, for example, that Chinese people are more open-minded when they talk about sex issue. The report also reveals that most netizens are bothered by the issue of whether they should have a child.
Faced with the soaring housing prices, inflation and great work pressure, it seems that people's concern and worries have changed with the times. For many people, as the report shows, the issue of whether they should have a child has become the most difficult choice to make in their life. Other issues that bother them include: whether they should maintain the relations with their marriage partners, whether they should keep their jobs, or whether they should earn more money. Things that concern people most are those related with love. The report shows that among the things that people feel it most difficult to make a choice from, 60% are related with love, marriage, or family issues. Of the things that bother people most, 47.3% are about love affairs. Most people might think that Asians are most conservative about sex issue and they focus more on family values while Westerners tend to be more open-minded about sex issue and care less about their families. However, the result tends to be just the opposite. As the report shows, Chinese people pay more attention to sex issue, yet they focus less on family values. The report shows that Chinese netizens have a great esteem2 for divine tools, whereas Westerners care more about things like the food they eat, their worries, anxieties and psychological health. Some analysts3 say that this shows Chinese people live for the future whereas Westerners live for the present.
