Chinanews, Chongqing, Jul. 4 – According to Chongqing Evening News, 34-year-old Lin Zhiping, a white collar woman in Chongqing, participated in a “villagers gathering” in Chongqing. Five other “villagers” also took part in it, hoping to rent a 10-mu forest and an 11-mu farm lands in the suburbs.
These “villagers” had just finished a sightseeing tour from Lijiang, Yunnan Province and been very much impressed by the tourist sites, so they hoped to initiate1 a lifestyle in Chongqing. Currently the “village” only has 6 women members, all coming from large cities like Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing. All these women are well-educated and now, they quitted their job and determined2 to make a living by farming. However, they are faced with many barriers to their dreams. They have to build houses and make water pipelines3 all by themselves. They are not welling to use fertilizers and pesticides4 when planting to the puzzlement of the local. In the beginning, they will have to depend on their previous savings5 for living, and each of them can only spend 400 yuan per month. Nevertheless, they believe it won’t be too long before they can visit their “village” and start making profits.
