Chinanews, Beijing, July 4 –On Monday, China released the first factual report about Japanese soldiers recruiting "Comfort Women", or sex slaves, in China. In the report, six Japanese soldiers admitted forcing Chinese women to be the sex slaves. The report reveals that sex slaves system had been practiced by Japanese aggressor troops in China for at least 16 years. Related archives show that about 338 Chinese women were forced to be the sex slaves for Japanese soldiers, the youngest being only 12 years old, the Beijing Morning Post reported.
The factual report was compiled by an organization called the Sex Slave Investigation1 Committee. The investigation team started its work in September, last year, and the first phase of the investigation was concluded in March, this year. The investigation work covered five counties in Shanxi, two counties in Hainan, and six counties in Yunnan, said Kang Jian, a lawyer who participated in the investigation. In addition to investigating the former sex slaves, the team also investigated some Japanese who served in the Japanese armed forces in China during the Second World War. Suzuki Keikyu, a lieutenant-general and commander of the wartime 117th Division, recalled that part of the history as follows. “When I stationed in Anhui, I once ordered my aide Major Horio to set up a comfort women house. The house contained 20 Chinese and North Korean women. In China, I recruited altogether 60 Chinese and North Koreans to be comfort women. I also ordered my soldiers to set up a comfort women house in northeast China. “ Another Japanese, Nakai Hisaji, who once served as the director of the Justice Correction Department in the puppet-Manchukuo regime, said: “In May 1939, I was the under-secretary in Heihe Province (now known as Heilongjiang Province). During this time, I spent 30,000 yuan to build a comfort women house that covered 200 square meters. ” Investigators2 found 16 sex slave survivors4 in four counties in Shanxi and one sex slave survivor3 in a county in Hainan. Among these 17 survivors, the youngest was only 12 and the oldest only 21 then. Investigators looked through information in 8 archives and found that some of the archives contained the names of 338 Chinese women who were forced to be the sex slaves. From April 1944 to August 1945, the Japanese medical officers checked their health and then sent them to the Japanese garrisons5 in Henan, Shandong, Tangshan, and Tianjin, to be the sex slaves. 点击收听单词发音
