Chinanews, Shanghai, August 8 – Shanghai is going to set up several stations of silence along downtown streets, where passers-by can enjoy precious quietness after paying a small amount of money.
The quite stations look like modern statues. Andreas Rimkus, a German designer, designed them. They are completely sound-proof, to meet the modern people’s needs for a moment’s relief from the noises. “I have named it the Shanghai Art Station of Silence, as I believe Shanghai is where the impossible can be achieved, ” said Rimkus. In fact, if his plan really becomes reality, Shanghai will be the first city with such a convenience. According to Rimkus’ design, the stations come in a variety of shapes, but all of them are imbued1 with the spirit of modernity, and should be highly2 compatible3 with the vigorous4 Shanghai style.
