Chinanews, Beijing, August 24 – According to a survey jointly1 conducted by the China Wildlife Conservation Association and Wild Aid, the number of game food restaurants in China has dropped by 6.6% compared with 1999, and the number of restaurants applying for authorization2 of selling game food has been decreased by 11.2%.
As high-income earners can be potential game food consumers, now the Wild Aid wishes to start a campaign in China to keep them posted on the importance of wildlife conservation. At present, there are at least 15,500-odd endangered species in the world, thus it will be a difficult task to protect them. If there is still great demand for game food in the market, illegal trade of wild animals won’t be stopped. Thus it is important for everyone in the world to say “no” to such food. Wild Aid is planning to cooperate with Airmedia Advertising3, a famous advertising agency in Beijing, in the future.
