Chinanews, Nanjing, Sept. 4 – “My parents say if a high-grade rest home can’t be found, we will build one for ourselves,” Ms. Meng, a white collar1 in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province said.
Meng revealed2 that her parents wanted to go to live in rest home because their children had too much pressure in life and living. Meng said that old people living there could find friends easier. A 78-year-old Ms. Song said that she wanted to move to rest home, but she also worried that conditions of most rest homes in Nanjing were bad, where 6-7 old people had to live in the same room. She said she needed a neat room for only 2 people. A 70-year-old Ms. Shi said that rest home should also provide medical service, but currently3 few rest homes in Nanjing can provide such service.
