Chinanews, Urumqi, September 15 – Xinjiang, located in the northwestern part of China, is under the attack of drugs from both the Golden Crescent and the Golden Triangle. Now the autonomous¹ region has become one of the major hotbeds for drug traffickers, where local police have to deal with various drug-related crimes.

There are 8 neighboring countries located along the border of Xinjiang, and the Golded Crescent in Afghanistan is also contiguous to the region. The Golden Triangle is not far from the region, either. Besides, the long borderline and the vast territory of Xinjiang both make it relatively² easy for drug traffickers to be ferreted out.

Xinjiang nowadays is doing the best it can to stop drug trafficking from both the Golden Crescent and Golden Triangle, but the drug traffickers have also upgraded their tricks, particularly those from the Golden Crescent.
