Chinanews, Kunming, October 30 – According to the information from the Yunnan Provincial1 Academy of Social Sciences, several experts will gather in Kunming on November 1 to discuss the feasibility of building the third “Eurasian Continental2 Bridge”.
The third “Eurasian Continental Bridge” will start at the ports aong Guangdong coast, traveling through Myanmar, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey and Europe, with Rotterdam as its destination. Its sub-branches will even extend to African. It will be 15,000-odd km long, 3,000 km shorter than the sea route via the Straits of Malacca. The project will be based on the transasia-railway built under the cooperative mechanism3 of ASEAN-Mekong Basin development to link South and Southeast Asia, forming a complete railway network covering the whole continent that is accessible from both Europe and Africa.
