Chinanews, Dalian, Nov. 9 – According to Bandao Morning News, a rich man from Dandong, Liaoning Province invested 40 million yuan to build 54 houses for his fellow villagers to live for free.
Liming Village, Kuandian County, is the hometown of this rich man. Many villages have become rich from exploiting natural resources in recent years, but the Liming Village is still poor. According to the villagers, the rich man originally planned to provide food to them for free, but then he decided1 to build houses. A villager Tan Mingbo invited our reporter to visit his home, when his wife Jiang Hong was cooking. “This house costs nearly 400 thousand yuan,” Jiang said. She was very satisfied with her new house, and said that the room was large enough to accommodate 4-5 people. The house also has a Western-style fireplace. Tan said that this secret rich man had stayed away to live in Beijing for 20 years. Tan was employed by Yu to make traditional herbal medicine. He said he could earn 150 yuan per day when he was busy. A villager said the rich man is named Yu Chengbo, who made a large fortune in the real estate business in Beijing. He revealed that Yu was extremely poor when he lived in the village, so poor that he had had to borrow money from his neighbors to hold his wedding ceremony.
