Chinanews, Shanghai, November 21 – According to a report by Shanghai Municipal1 Women’s Federation2, most women with a successful career are able to maintain a balance between family and career, and 80% of them are confident in having a harmonious3 life, which shows a new image of them to the general public.
The report is based on a survey covering 1,008 respondents, all being public servants, businesswomen or scientists. More than 70% of the respondents are satisfied with their current jobs. 43.89% of them think that “chance” is even more important than talent, and they don’t agree with the clichéthat a successful woman must either be pretty or have received help from “powerful friends”. About 53% of the respondents think they have a happy marriage, while another 27.8% describe their marriage as plain. Some 12.2% of them have nothing to say about their marriage. Only 2.2% and 0.8% of the respondents think their marriage is “exhausting” or “painful”, respectively. Those who are satisfied with their jobs tend to have a harmonious family life, as indicated by 94% of the respondents.
