Chinanews, Changchun, November 28 – Nowadays, many young people in Changchun, Jilin Province still lead a free life as single people after they got married.
Miss Teng, 26, got married not long after graduation from a college, but both her husband and she live in each’s dormitory. If they have time, they will go shopping or have dinner together after work, just like the days before they got married. They have to remain “single” before they have house of their own. Mr. Wang, on the contrary, appreciates such lifestyle, and so does his wife. “Both of us are satisfied with our current life, as it prevents us from quarreling over daily chores, and our regular meet remains1 exciting and passionate,” said Wang to our reporter. Most of such young people are in their late 20s or early 30s, and have not got married for long. Some say that they still miss the carefree single life, while others complain about the heavy pressure from both their career and the society. This new type of marriage reflects young Chinese have a different view on marriage from older generations, particularly showing their passion for freedom. However, most of such young people admit that they will eventually settle down when they have kids or stable careers.
