Chinanews, Guangzhou, Nov. 29 – According to Guangzhou Daily, Ms. Zhou who lives in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province wanted to raise a pet pig in early 2007. She asked her friend to buy one from Shanghai. A merchant recommended a pet pig priced at 1,000 yuan, and claimed that it could be raised to the size of only 30 cm in length. Zhou was satisfied with it and bought it. She named the pig “Jinjin”.
The pig was cute at first, but later Zhou found it was not like a pet pig. Half a year later she was astonished to find that it had become a huge animal with 50 kilos in weight. Many of Zhou’s neighbors become familiar with the strange pig. Zhou indicated that she would not try to find out that seller and reason with him, and she would continue raise it. The secretary-general of Zhuhai Animal Protection Association explained that because this year is the Year of the Pig, many residents intend to buy pet pigs, but Zhou has been cheated. He also said that some merchants dyed pet pigs in a variety of colors to make them look more beautiful, although they knew the color would quickly fade. He hoped that the local authority could strive1 to fight against those illegal activities. 点击 ![]()
