Chinanews, Beijing, December 3 – Bianyifang Roast Duck Restaurant recently published a nutrition value report of its roast duck cooked with vegetable juice. The report was made by the PLA General Hospital. Bianyifang plans to put the nutrition values of roast duck on its menu, and it will then become the first Chinese-style restaurant to do so.
The roast duck is a symbol of Beijing dishes, which originated1 600 years ago. However, not many people have paid attention to the roast duck other than its delicious taste, thus Bianyifang invested2 more than 100,000 yuan to find out its nutrition value. The roast duck cooked with vegetable juice is an innovation3 of Bianyifang, by which various vegetables are added to the roast duck, to increase its vitamin and mineral contents while decreasing the content of fat and total heat.
