New analysis from the World Health Organization is suggesting the Ebola outbreak in Liberia may have topped out.
世界卫生组织的最新分析显示,埃博拉病毒在利比里亚的传染可能已达到极限。
The WHO says it's now seeing a 25 percent week-on-week reduction in new cases of the virus in Liberia.
WHO Assistant Director-General, Doctor Bruce Aylward.
"The actual number of newly reported cases is beginning to decline in Liberia, and the government is really driving a multi-pronged investigation1 looking at multiple strands2 of evidence to try and understand is this real. And so far based on the information received today, and again most of you are somewhat aware of this, it appears that the trend is real in Liberia."
But at the same time, the WHO is cautioning that any let-up in the response to the outbreak could allow the virus to reassert itself.
Meanwhile, authorities in North Korea have announced that any foreigner entering the country is going to be quarantined for 3-weeks amid fears of Ebola entering the country.
North Korean authorities have not said when the blanket quarantine program will begin.
The limited numbers of foreigners who enter North Korea mostly make their way there through China.
