11月1日，第七次全国人口普查正式开启现场登记，700多万普查人员走入千家万户，登记普查信息。自上世纪90年代以来，中国每10年进行一次全国人口普查。

China started its seventh national population census¹ on Nov 1, with about 7 million census takers going door to door to document demographic information. China has conducted a national population census every 10 years since the 1990s.

 

要通过这次人口普查查清我国人口数量、结构、分布等方面情况，把握人口变化趋势性特征，为完善人口发展战略和政策体系、制定经济社会发展规划、推动经济高质量发展提供准确统计信息支持。
