国家主席习近平11月10日以视频方式出席上海合作组织成员国元首理事会第二十次会议并发表讲话。习近平强调，上海合作组织要弘扬“上海精神”，为推动构建人类命运共同体作出更多实践探索。

President Xi Jinping called on the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to carry forward the Shanghai Spirit and make more explorations to build a community with a shared future for humanity. Xi made the remarks when attending via video link the 20th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO on Nov 10.

 

成员国遵循“上海精神”，加强政治、经济、安全、人文等领域合作，树立了相互尊重、公平正义、合作共赢的新型国际关系典范。新冠肺炎疫情发生后，各方同舟共济、守望相助，为本组织稳定发展和国际抗疫合作注入了正能量。

Committed to the Shanghai Spirit, SCO members have enhanced cooperation in the political, economic, security, people-to-people and cultural fields, setting an example for a new type of international relations that features mutual¹ respect, equity², justice and win-win cooperation. In the face of COVID-19, we have backed each other up to tide over the difficulties together. Such solidarity³ has injected positive energy into both the SCO’s steady development and international cooperation against the coronavirus.

The SCO has maintained a strong momentum⁴ of development and become an important and constructive⁵ force for regional security, stability and prosperity. The ultimate reason for its success lies in the Shanghai Spirit, which calls for continued enhancement of solidarity and mutual trust. We have on our shoulders the expectations of the people of SCO countries and we must think and work in one mind to build the momentum we need to achieve our common goal.
