  A Strange Flight
We were late as usual. My husband had insisted on watering the flowers in the garden by himself, and when he discovered that he couldn‘t manage, he asked me for help at the last moment. So now we had an hour to get to the airport. Luckily, there were not many cars or buses on the road and we were able to get there just in time. We checked in and went straight to a big hall to wait for flight to be called. We waited and waited, but no announcement was made. We asked for information and the girl there told us that the plane hadn’t even arrived yet. In the end, there was another announcement telling us that passengers waiting for Flight LJ108 could get a free meal voucher2 (凭单) and that the plane hadn‘t left Spain for technical problems. We thought that meant that if wasn’t safe for the plane to fly. We waited again for a long time until late evening when we were asked to report again. This time we were given vouchers3 to spend the night in a nearby hotel.
The next morning after a bad night because of all the planes taking off and landing, we were reported back to the airport. Guess what had happened while we were asleep! Our plane had arrived and taken off again. All the other passengers had been forgotten. You can imagine how we felt!

  Hair Care
Whether the hair is long or short, it must be regularly brushed (梳)and regularly washed. For greasy4 (油性的) hair, especially if the owner lives in a town, it may be necessary to wash the head every four to five days. Those with a dry hair can usually go a little longer, but this is a matter for the individual to decide.
If a woman is not able to go to hairdresser very often, it is important that she chooses a style she can easily manage for herself, and this nearly always means that the first cut must be very standard. The same applies to permanent (永久的)waving. I delay, this should be carried out three or four times a year, so that the hair never gets out of hand.
One thing would be remembered though, that is, whatever you apply to the head can have some effect upon the skin and therefore anything strong should be used with care. Or you may use milder products. As for style, this must be studied according to what is the latest fashion and also to suit the individual at different times of her life.
Young people who has spots or skin troubles on their face, should take particular care to ensure that the hair is both clean and does not come into contact with the affected5 piece of skin. Hair is very difficult to keep completely clean and therefore anyone running their hands through their hair and afterwards touching6 their face, or letting their hair fall over their faces, might spread infection from one place to another. Good hair does a lot to the effect of a face, so if you want to look charming, please start with your hair.
  6. According to the text, the most basic thing to do in hair care is
A to go to hairdressers very often B to choose milder products for the hair.

  Perfect Competition
Perfect competition exists in an industry that contains many relatively20 samll firms producing identical products. The most importhant characteristic(特征) of a perfectly21 competitive industry if that no single firm has any control over prices. This important characteristic follows from two assumptions(假设)。First, a competitive industry is composed of many firms, each being very samll relative to the size of the industry .S***nd ,every firm in a perfectly competitive industry producse exactly the same product.
Firms in perfectly competitive industries do not differentiate22(区分) their products, nor do they make decisions about price.Rather, each firm takes prices as given-that is ,as determined23 in the market by the laws of supply and demand -and decides olny how much to produce and how to produce it.Given the availability(可得性) of perfect substitutes, any product priced over the market price will not be sold .
  In perfect
competition we also assume that firms can freely enter and exit the industry. The assumption of free entry implies that if firms in an industry are earning excessively high profits, new firms that seek to do the same thing are likely to spring up.Fast food restaurants are quick to spring up when a new shopping center opens.Where profit opportunities present themselves, we assume that firms sill enter and compete for them.
Free exit is possible when firms can simply stop producing their products and leave a market .Generally speaking,a firm closes dowm because it is suffering losses or because profits are insufficient24 .New England textile and furniture products found themselves facing increasing foreign competition, as well as lower production costs in the South .While some firms packed up and moved ,others simply got out of the business altogether.
