Chinanews, Dalian, Sept 11 – In light of the rapid growth of private cars, vice1 director of the State Development and Reform Commission Zhang Xiaoqiang said that the government wouldn’t curb2 the development of private cars summarily.
Transportation industry plays an important part in realizing the task of emission3 reduction. Chinese government will give priority to developing track transport as it can save more energy, Zhang said. Most Chinese cities have relied on tracks to realize inter-city transportation. Within these cities, public transportation is greatly promoted. At present, most Chinese people wish to buy a car of their own. Chinese government has always hoped that people can buy cars with low emissions4 and low energy consumption. In future, Chinese government will continue to work out a framework in this aspect, Zhang said.
